This guide offers a selection of 20 bike loops to discover the diversity of the Puy-de-Dôme department. From the Val d'Allier to the volcanoes of the Puys chain, passing through high-altitude pastures and coniferous forests, the landscapes crossed allow us to grasp the beauty and variety of the territory. The circuits are between 12.5 km and 37 km, and favor small roads with low traffic. For the majority of them, the difference in altitude is therefore quite low, and all of them can be done by mechanical bicycle or VAE (electrically assisted bicycle). The loops are located a maximum of 1 hour drive from Clermont-Ferrand. Between lakes and peaks, plains and gorges, get on your cycle and go cycling in the heart of Puy-de-Dôme to enjoy the natural, historical and cultural heritage of Auvergne!
The territory concerned goes from Effiat in the north to La Godivelle in the south, and from Combat-en-Combrailles in the west to Ambert in the west.
