The author
Pierre Hérant was born in Touraine and lives in Nice, very close to the mountains of the Southern Alps. He has dedicated his professional career to environmental protection and energy savings. Always passionate about the mountains, nature, travel and reading, he constantly combines these four passions in his writing.
If Pierre Hérant tells us here about a cycling journey, he is also an adventurer on foot: he has carried out numerous treks and long hikes in France (crossing France from Nice to Mont Saint-Michel, crossing the entire Pyrenees. ..) and in different parts of the world (Nepalese and Indian Himalayas, Japan, Tassili, Reunion and La Palma islands...).
After a short 3,700 km cyclocamping tour of France in 2020, in 2021 he embarked on the longest possible tour of France, as close as possible to the borders and coastlines.
